Our Day at Soaky Mountain Waterpark in Sevierville, Tennessee

If you’re heading to Sevierville and looking for something that the whole family can actually enjoy, let me just say this right now: Soaky Mountain Waterpark is a whole lot of fun.
We spent the day checking it out, and from the second we got there, it felt like the kind of place where you can go all in on the big attractions or just take your time and enjoy the atmosphere. It’s colorful, it’s spread out well, and it has that summer energy that makes you want to stay longer than you planned.
What stood out to me right away was how much there is to look at. You’ve got towering slides, bright seating areas, family attractions, places to cool off, and plenty going on everywhere you turn. It doesn’t feel like one of those parks where there’s only one big thing to do and then you’re done. This felt like a full-day stop.
First impressions
One of the things I liked most about Soaky Mountain is that it felt fun right away. Some places take a while to figure out, but this one has that instant “okay, this is going to be a good day” kind of feel.
There’s a nice mix here too. If you’re somebody who wants the adrenaline stuff, you’re covered. If you’re visiting with family and need a few different kinds of attractions to keep everybody happy, you’re covered there too. That balance matters, especially on a family day.
A place to actually spend the day
Something else I noticed was that there are spots to slow down and recharge, which I always appreciate. When you’re filming, walking, riding, and trying to fit everything into one day, having a spot to relax for a bit makes a difference.
The cabana area especially caught my eye. If you want a home base, some shade, and a little breathing room in between attractions, that looked like a really smart way to do the park.
Snacks, drinks, and little breaks
A good water park day is not just about rides. You need those little reset moments too, and there were spots around the park where you could stop, grab something, and take a breather before jumping back into everything.
One of the spots we checked out was Drippin’ Coffee + Candy, and it’s places like that that help round out the day. It gives you a chance to pause for a minute instead of feeling like you have to run nonstop from one attraction to the next.
The thrill side of Soaky Mountain
Now let’s get to the part a lot of people really want to know about: the rides.
This park definitely has the big visual wow factor. The slide structures alone make you want to grab the camera and start filming immediately. They look awesome, and once people start flying through them, it gets even better.
There’s something about a ride that gets your heart going and still makes you laugh at the same time, and that’s exactly the kind of vibe we got here. It had that perfect water park mix of excitement, speed, and that split second where you know you’re in for it.
More than just the biggest slides
What I liked is that it wasn’t only about chasing the tallest or wildest attraction. There were also other things mixed in that made the day feel more complete.
The floating obstacle course is one of those attractions that just looks fun the second you see it. It’s active, it’s a little chaotic in the best way, and it gives families and kids something different to jump into.
That’s what helps a place like this work so well. Everybody doesn’t have to want the exact same experience. Some people are going for the thrill rides. Some want to float, splash around, or take it a little easier. This park gives you enough variety to make that happen.
One attraction that really stands out
Another standout was Hang 10essee FlowRider. That one has a completely different feel from the slides, which is part of what makes it cool. Instead of just hopping on and going, this one adds a little challenge and a little skill to it.
It also makes for a really fun visual because you instantly know whether somebody has it or whether they’re about to wipe out in spectacular fashion.
Final thoughts
By the end of the day, we were tired, soaked, and had that good kind of “we packed a lot into today” feeling. And honestly, that’s the goal with a place like this.
So, would I recommend Soaky Mountain Waterpark in Sevierville?
